Creation Description：”Releasing Life” is an ecological art installation that uses a 30-meter-long and 1.5-meter-diameter transparent plastic bag as its medium. The work places this thin yet huge man-made object on an open lake surface, making it a sensitive carrier for capturing the intangible natural forces.
The wind – this kind of flowing energy that is usually invisible – has taken on a concrete form at this moment. Plastic bags undulate, stretch and gather with the wind, casting changing wrinkles and shadows on the water surface, becoming faithful recorders of air movement. Sometimes it fluctuates gently like breathing, and sometimes it curls violently, drawing lines full of tension between the lake and the sky.
The work reveals the ubiquitous yet often overlooked energy flow in nature through the simplest artificial materials. As a symbol of the consumer society, plastic bags are “released” into the natural system here and transformed into a medium of pure perception. It invites viewers to re-examine the dialogue between wind and water, and in the symbiosis of industrial products and natural forces, reflect on the subtle boundaries between the visible and the invisible, the ephemeral and the eternal, the artificial and the natural.
