Creation Description: “Critical Moment” is a minimalist dynamic installation that uses gravity as its pen and crisis as its ink. The work suspends a bullet head upside down, with its tip almost touching the ground when at rest, at a precisely calculated critical equilibrium.
When external force intervenes, the warhead begins to be pulled by the Earth’s gravity and slowly and solemnly swings back and forth with its suspension point as the axis. The cold light of metal streaks through the air. The tiny yet decisive distance between the tip and the ground keeps approaching and moving away as it swings, transforming the tension of the “critical moment” into a visible and cyclical physical rhythm.
The work transforms the violent bullet into a contemplative pendulum, endowing it with a brand-new temporality and spirituality. It forces the viewer to gaze upon this perilous elegance, to feel the absolute authority of gravity and the extreme fragility of balance within the amplitude of the sway, and to experience an eternal tension suspended between destruction and stillness.
