Creation Note: This is an interactive installation with the audience, inspired by the ARRET DEMANDE prompt button on French buses that requests to stop. Based on the relationship between the crowd and time, this especially creates a tension for a stranger in a specific space. I found that the “ARRET DEMAND” used to create the work was actually spreading another problem message. The driver must abide by this order. This is an emotion I feel in this situation. “ARRET DEMAND” is also a concept that allows the imagination to flow freely. The structure of the work is that I made an installation box out of wood, placed a fluorescent tube inside, stuck self-adhesive tape and laser-hollowed-out text on the front, and transformed it into a screen message. Then, an interactive platform for buttons was made of wood. Finally, I installed a timer and wires to connect and control the feedback relationship between the audience and the work. The distance between the interactive switch of the device and the display is 3 meters. When the audience enters and presses the button (for interaction), the screen will display “ARRET DEMAND”. One minute later, the lights will automatically turn off and the letters “ARRET DEMAND” will also be turned off. The work conveys a tense atmosphere through distance, space and air. When the audience sees the letter “ARRET DEMAND”, the work makes them think about why “ARRET DEMAND” might offer the audience a lot of room for imagination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
